Terms of Service

These terms apply when you use Makzani — the customer app, the captain app, the store app, or this website. Makzani is a delivery platform operating in Yemen.

What Makzani does

Makzani connects customers with stores, and arranges a captain to carry the order between them. The store is the seller of what you buy. Makzani arranges the delivery and handles the money that moves because of it.

Using the platform

You sign in with your phone number. Keep access to that number: anyone who receives its sign-in codes can reach your account.

Give a delivery address you can actually receive an order at, and a location on the map that matches it. A wrong point is the most common reason a delivery fails.

Orders, delivery and payment

Payment is cash on delivery. You pay the captain when the order reaches you. There is no card payment and no online payment on this platform.

The price you are shown is the price. The delivery fee is calculated by our server from the store, the distance and the order value — not by the store or the captain, and not after the fact. Where a store sets a minimum order or a free-delivery threshold, it is applied before you confirm.

An order can be cancelled inside a short window after you place it, before a store has begun preparing it. After that, ask through the app and we will do what we can.

Delivery is to the point you chose. If a captain confirms a delivery away from that point, the app records a photo.

Returns

If something is wrong with what arrives, tell us through the app. A return is agreed between you, the store and Makzani. A return is not the same as a refund of everything: the delivery work was still done, and the return share is applied to what is returned.

For stores and captains

Stores and captains are reviewed and approved by a Makzani operator before they can trade on the platform. Approval can be refused, and an account can be suspended or disabled — for example for repeatedly failing to fulfil orders, for misrepresenting what is sold, or for mistreating a customer or another user.

Captains receive delivery offers and choose whether to accept them. A captain is paid a share of the delivery fee. A store is paid for what it sells, less the platform’s commission, and is settled periodically.

When we can suspend an account

We can suspend or close an account that is used to defraud a store, a captain or a customer, that abuses another user, or that is used by someone who is not its owner.

Liability

Makzani arranges delivery. It does not manufacture, grow or package what you buy — the store is responsible for the goods themselves and for what it states about them.

We do our best to keep the platform running and orders moving, and we do not promise it will never be unavailable.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Yemen, and disputes arising from them are heard by the competent courts of Yemen.

Changes

If we change these terms, we change this page and the date at the top of it.
